Venus
Venus
The next part of 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, NO!', which I exhibited during the LUCA Master Try-Out exhibition, explores a blow-up sex doll I bought. I'm approaching the doll - Venus - as a product of misogyny, typical power dynamics during sex, and expectations set on women.
The fact that this doll exists, and represents a woman, what does that mean for me as an actual woman in society? Is objectivation a spectrum, where Venus is at the end and I'm somewhere in the middle?
Is this your ideal woman? One who can’t speak or move? One who only endures?
