Olivier De Pooter
Born September 4, 1972 in Braine l'Alleud. A large part of his life took place in Nivelles in Belgium where he studied at the Sainte-Gertrude college. Towards the beginning of his adolescence, Art began to take an important place in his life quite naturally. Poetry, writing and painting have accompanied him since that day. Abstract painting is an important motor allowing it to transpose the imagination. The art of transforming an image with regard to the photography of everyday life in such a way as to give it an impression of the unreal. Abstract painting has a very large place in his creative world. Self-taught artist: "Presenting an artistic approach is something so difficult, because each human being perceives as he feels what the artist is trying to transpose. What we discern through his gaze is unique to each one…. My way of working the photo or rather the photographic art as well as the painting is something so subjective that to describe it is difficult or almost impossible" as he likes to specify. What he offers you to do is simply explore his vision of the world or rather what he perceives and share it with you.
"Even if it may seem primary or primitive, "action painting" is a thoughtful pictorial movement as far as I am concerned and it allows me to be able to create forms or rather interpretations from my unconscious or my mood of the moment. Leaving everyone free to make their own vision, their own perception. The play of colors as well as the transposition in certain cases of geometric shapes are a juxtaposition between the concrete and abstract world that surrounds us. The lines or the movements of colors that accompany it are a link that operates between the two worlds.The world of the visible and that of the invisible.Looking at an abstract work never leaves one indifferent: one enters it or one rejects it, but in no case can we remain without an opinion What I humbly try in creating his works is just to invite people who wish to enter my world and accompany me on this journey which is infinite. "

Self-taught painter and photographer, Olivier De Pooter lives and works in Belgium. Passionate about creation since his adolescence during which he had fun copying works by Lautrec, Monet or Degas, he has since chosen the path of abstraction, transmitting to us his emotions and his ideas, this other part of himself that he keeps discreet on a daily basis.

Revisiting reality
It is thanks to confinement that the artist returned to photography, rediscovering his country and its treasures.
Olivier De Pooter likes urban landscapes, these scenes of everyday life as much as the images of the past that allow us to reconnect with our memories. Creator of atmospheres, he reinterprets reality to infuse us with all its flavor and beauty.
Release the emotion
A song, a perfume, an idea... Olivier De Pooter's inspiration is constantly on the alert! He sometimes makes collages on a particular theme like his work made from letters dating from colonization which allow him to convey his inner message.
For his paintings, in acrylic, the artist often knows where he is going even if, as he says, happy skids can happen and give another impetus to the painting.
With his bright colors, his energetic line, Olivier De Pooter creates vibrant canvases of energy that touch the eye as much as the heart.
The meeting of universes
This is what motivates the artist, the meeting of universes, his own and that of the spectator, when the free interpretation offered by abstraction gives rise to exchanges that open up the field of possibilities...
Everyone captures a different emotion according to their experience, their state of being, their personality..., connecting to the other with their own baggage in a beautiful union of souls.
