Unpolished is looking for jewelry artists with strong ties to Belgium to showcase their work in Unpolished’s very first exhibition.
The exhibition will take place as part of Current Obsession’s Obsessed! Festival — a vibrant gathering for jewelry lovers and curious minds from Belgium and the Netherlands.
In line with our manifesto, all participating artists will receive a fair artist fee.

For Whom?
Emerging or early-career jewelry artists (students, recent graduates…)
Artists based in Belgium or holding Belgian nationality
We are not only looking for wearable jewelry. Works can range from wearable pieces to performative gestures, spatial installations, or time-based works. Jewelry is understood here in the broadest sense — as something that relates to the body.

When?
The exhibition will be part of the Obsessed! Festival, organized by Current Obsession, which takes place in Antwerp from Friday 21/11 until Sunday 23/11.
The build-up will take place in the morning of November 21.
The deadline for this open call is August 24 (midnight). The final selection will be communicated before August 31.

Theme?
Every day, we shape and reshape who we are. Identity is not fixed, but fluid — formed through gestures, routines, relationships, and transitions. In Rituals of Becoming, we explore how jewelry and body adornment can give form to these moments of transformation.

We are looking for jewelry artists, designers, makers, and interdisciplinary practitioners whose work engages with the idea of becoming — not as a linear path, but as something layered, uncertain, and ongoing. This exhibition will bring together works that reflect on how the act of making or wearing jewelry can accompany personal or collective rituals of change.

Your work will be showcased during Current Obsession’s Obsessed! Festival — a vibrant meeting place for jewelry enthusiasts and curious art lovers alike.
We’ll host a small vernissage and a series of talks. If you’re interested, you’re welcome to take the stage and share insights regarding your work and artistic journey.
You’ll also have the chance to sell some pieces or multiples during the exhibition.
