When confronted with several works by Jurgen Declerck, there are a number of facets that immediately attract attention.  First of all, there is the striking variation in style, along with a wide variety of materials used.

When we approach Jurgen Declerck a little closer as a person, we discover that this visible unrest runs completely parallel to his incessant questioning and searching within one's own emotional world and one's own critical mind.

In the end, each question gets its appropriate answer, which is then translated into a rational work, a material with reference or a readable figuration.

The fact that these artistic solutions are dosed with each other means that the seemingly completely separate works eventually come together in a sensible symbiosis.
