Peggy Papeleu

1570 Vollezele

I describe my style rather as "intuitive abstract" because I often rely purely on feeling, and see where it takes me. I rarely have a rigid plan at the outset. Usually my works radiate a certain tranquility, partly due to my preference for soft, warm colors.

Besides a certain tranquility, my works also reflect a healthy curiosity. Indeed, I prefer to experiment with a wide range of materials, ranging from watercolor, acrylic, gouache, ink, pencils to oil pastels, silk paper, tissues (yes ...) and allow myself to be surprised by their mutual interaction and by the behavior of the pigments among themselves and with their support.

Looking at a work feels like a voyage of discovery - each time you discover something new that you hadn't noticed before.
