NL:

Beauty, philosophy, symbolism, nature, mysticism and spirituality are essential parts of my work. For this I seek inspiration from the 19th century with William Turner, Jugendstil, Symbolism, Pre-Raphaelites, ... but also from the modern mystical works of Rothko, Chiharu Shiota, Louise Bourgeois, ...

A mix of style and the use of various techniques are intertwined in my works. My intense eclectic canvases sometimes approach the sensual of Khnopff in Klimt and at other times the naive. Colorful flowers and jungles as found with Frida Kahlo and Henri “Le Douanier” Rousseau.

At first sight it is a very feminine, longing, loving and lovely world of flowers and bees. But this is an appearance. Like everywhere and in everything, in paradise there is also dark next to the light. As an artist I invite the viewer with every artwork to search for the deeper underlying truth, to personally empathize with what binds and protects us universally.
