In every image I create, the chosen material takes centre stage. My first approach to a new work is the start of a dialogue between colour and form. I draw inspiration from various techniques and materials I encounter, such as the linearity of weaving techniques and the plastic properties of paint. The interaction that mirrors and glass create with the viewer also plays an important role. My background lies in painting, where I consider painting as a way of seeing. However, the execution is done in the materials that the dialogue in the work requires. From this perspective, therefore, I see myself primarily as a visual artist, a maker of images.
