I made this work for my ex-girlfriend. She had told me about one of her pets that died and I decided to honor her pet. It’s mostly a reminder of how human queer people are and the things you will care about for someone you love. 

There once was a girl named Maja. One day, her grandmother had bought her and the other grandchildren each a duckling. Maja named hers ‘Georgetta’, and from that moment on, fifteen-year-old Maja became Georgetta’s mother. Georgetta lived in her grandmother’s garden and had the most wonderful life. But then came the most dreadful day. Georgetta was left alone. When Maja came back after a few hours, she discovered… a duck’s head in the garden! It’s not her Georgetta, right? Maja runs to the kitchen. “What’s on the menu tonight, grandmother?” she asked, fearing the worst. “Duck broth,” her grandmother answered calmly. The duck had already been plucked and put in the water to boil. That night, Maja ate her one and only daughter, while crying and remembering their moments in the garden.
