In Zaantje #2, the shadows of the floating elements within the whole create a depth effect within the plane. The monochrome matter of the inside evokes a velvet effect that draws the viewer right in. The luminous serrated edge as an organic element then creates the appearance outwards. This minimalist work referred for the juryto a smiling mouth. It made them happy.”
