"Twin" is a work composed of two canvases of identical format. At first glance, their similarity is striking: two oil paintings dominated by a monochrome background, each marked by a thick stroke applied with a palette knife. But upon closer inspection, the differences emerge. The most obvious is the contrast in color. Then come the brushstrokes, the texture left by the knife, and above all, the way this fluid, smooth mark interacts with the striated background, shaped by bold, almost aggressive gestures.

"Twin" explores contrast and opposition. An idea, a gesture, a question. Everything appears simple, yet everything is ambiguous. The work reflects our human tendency to respond with certainty to deeply complex questions. Here, painting doesn’t aim to provide an answer, but rather to expose the tension between two possible truths.
