Stolen memories (een artistieke verwerking, antwoord op een voorwerp gevonden in de archieven van de nazi's)

I chose Maria or Marie, she was born on the same day as me. The 2th of January. 

A special day. A brand-new year, but also already 2 days old. The party is finished and daily, normal life is beginning again. 

I loved her bracelet. The stones have a color that suits her name. Mariablue. 

The material I worked with are reusable shopping bags. I associate these bags with the refugees of now. Everything of importance is kept in these bags. They are taken from refugee Kamp to asylum center, from a home country to new ones. 

History repeats itself.
