TO ORANDA, is the Japanese pronunciation of the phrase: ‘and the Netherlands’. The video is a reflection on my migration to Belgium, my Japanese heritage and my Dutch upbringing. Even though I was born and raised in the Netherlands, in the EU. I am not considered an EU citizen or a Dutch citizen. As an artist without one fixed culture, I critique and reflect on the ways of communications and relations that happen in and between these three countries by recounting a mixture of bureaucratic, personal and historical impressions.
