An exhibition inspired by a novel, a city and a scene

for MHKA museum, 2019

For the Amberes exhibition, MHKA invited Eva Donckers to create a series of images for the exhibition’s visual campaign and were included in the group exhibition. The images, shot around Barcelona, Castelldefels and Blanes in Catalonia, Spain, are based on specific locations in Bolaño’s novel. Depicting campsites, café”s, beaches and other settings, the images give a sense of incidents and encounters that have happened in seemingly innocent places.
