During their research on date palms, the artist focused on the fruit itself.

Viewing the branches as parts of their genealogical tree and the fruits as their ancestors, they froze the fruit to prevent molding.

The artist then cast the fruit in lead, tin, and sugar. Each casting was meticulously hand-carved to reveal its unique identity.
