“Privaat Domein [Private Property] refers to a place where you are not welcome as an outsider. I experience the Flemish landscape as a closed landscape, this reflects itself not only in the view, but also in the psyche. Privaat Domein is a research on the contemporary version of the medieval enclosed garden, Hortus Conclusus, which is very present in Flanders. Furthermore, I investigate how religion affects the spatial arrangement of a place.“
