Armonie future (/future harmonies)
Armonie future (/future harmonies)
Struggling for survival while proclaiming the hope of rebirth and new beginnings: in a self-sustaining perpetual cycle, this terrarium takes its cue from the autobiographical symbolism of my research to demonstrate how the mechanisms of nature, if intact and untouched, are as simple as they are perfect and ethereal in continuing to live without human intervention.
Hoping to inspire reconnection with natural cycles, this work is alive and ever-changing, inhabited by snails, larvae, earthworms and other small insects, inviting the viewer to look closely at it and observe every little detail.
The sculpture inside, made in 3D printing with recycled PLA, is cradled by the plants that grow to take its form, an invitation for the viewer to imagine themselves within this small ecosystem as part of something larger.
This terrarium is made exclusively with plants, soil and rainwater from the ecosystem of Lovain-la-neuve in Belgium.
