Making Space for Quiet
Making Space for Quiet
144pg, soft cover
A reproduction of drawings and writings, created through a daily practice of observing my surroundings.
I look into the world and keep seeing so much beauty.
Focusing on patterns, I explore themes such as love ( I question my romantic relationships—why do I keep falling into certain patterns?), femininity ( why do I feel the need to always be the perfect, beautiful, well-groomed woman?), communication ( through words, body language, asserting opinions, flirting,…), mood swings from extreme happiness and feeling complete to feeling lost and uncertain, spirituality ( meditation, creating silence, alternative prayers…) and finding my place within this society.
I approach these themes from a personal perspective, through trial and error, honest and with a sense of humor, which is reflected in my drawings.
The book invites you to slow down, to pause for a moment, and to discover how images can offer a place for thoughts and feelings.
It’s a lot about feeling:)
Maybe you’ll recognize something of yourself in this search for quiet.
