THE SWAN AND THE HORSE
THE SWAN AND THE HORSE
Drawing about having a twin brother with autism.
POEM:
I had this nightmare where
you were crossing the street
and you never made it to the other side
I would be an orphan, a widow
I would be every loss
I know that if I leave I don't just leave, I abandon you
you're not a burden but you're not exactly lightweight either
I'm in exile, I'm afraid to admit that I've been wanting to leave
that I’ve been leaving, after all, it’s a heavy thing to do
but what am I supposed to do?
we've built a life for two
every birthday is two, every gift is two
always roll the dice twice, that's what I promised you
and somehow I’ve lost that, I've lost us
we've always grown together
so how do I do it
alone?
