De Kunstwedstrijd: Printmaking

Every year, the Cultural Council of Heist-op-den-Berg and Zwaneberg Cultural Centre organise De Kunstwedstrijd (The Art Competition), which always focuses on a different discipline. With the support of sponsors, prizes are awarded to three artists who, according to a jury of experts, have mastered or completed their medium in an exceptional way. The selection is made anonymously and solely on the basis of the (maximum of two) works submitted. Young, experienced, professional, local and national contemporary artists thus come together.

Rules

The artworks must be their own design. Each participant can submit a maximum of two works of recent date. Each part of a series will be counted as one separate work. A series of two works therefore counts as two works. The entrant declares that he is the author of the submitted work. Participation in the competition is free of charge. There is no restriction on the format of your work.
The jury looks for artworks in today's zeitgeist. They create a contemporary art exhibition.
Free graphics or printmaking means visual arts that use a printing technique to create a work on a medium. This can include etching, lithography, woodcut (or lino), screen printing, engraving, monoprint, off-set, UV printing ... and many more. What do we not mean by it? Drawing, i.e. where the artist draws directly on a medium, and photography will not be selected for this edition of The Art Competition.

Works must be delivered to Zwaneberg Cultural Centre on one of the following days:
▪️ Monday, November 11, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Armistice Day)
▪️ Tuesday 12 November 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
▪️ Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
