Input/Output 2023

For the eighth time, Cultuurcentrum Brugge is organizing the biennial competition/exhibition Input/Output.
The competition for contemporary visual art Input/Output 2023 is aimed at young artist between 17 and 34 years of age.
The winner receives 5,000 euros and participates in the exhibition at Exporuimte Poortersloge which is part of Triennale Brugge 2024. There is also an incentive prize of 1,500 euros.
The purpose of this competition is to give promising young artists a chance to go public with their creations and present themselves to the art world.

Participate

The contest is open to artists born before January 1, 2006 and after December 31, 1988. Furthermore, anyone except members of the organizing committee, the jury and past winners of Input/Output can participate in the contest. Participation is free of charge.
There is no theme.
Each artist may propose a maximum of two works for the contest.
Participation is possible only by sending a participation file in quintuplicate (see Article 5). This participation file must be in the possession of Cultuurcentrum Brugge before June 30, 2023.

The exhibition of the selected works will take place from Thursday November 16, 2023 until Sunday January 7, 2024 in Exporuimte Poortersloge, Kraanrei 19, 8000 Bruges.

A professional curator is invariably involved in the construction of the group exhibition. The publication is also part of the strategy by which we give young, promising contemporary visual artists a helping hand in the development of their artistry.

The successive winners of Input/Output are Marlies Davans, Pieter Geenen, Jasper Rigole, Sarah Westphal, Emi Kodama, Tripot (Marius Packbier & Aïlien Reyns), Evi Steyaert and Fabrice Souveryens.

Honorable mentions went to Peter Depelchin, Stijn Van Acker, Alice De Mont, Sofie Vanderlinden, Takahiro Kudo, Marieke Van Wuytswinkel, Ritsart Gobyn and Miguel Escobar.
