Liefdegem 2026: artists wanted

From February 7 to 21, 2026, Lievegem will be transformed into one big art heart.
During Liefdegem, we are looking for artists who want to display their work in surprising places—in a window, garden, café, or shop window.
Do you have a connection with Lievegem or the Meetjesland region and are you interested in a creative match?

Liefdegem 2026 will be a warm, connecting arts festival taking place from February 7 to 21, 2026, in the various boroughs of Lievegem (Oostwinkel, Lovendegem, Ronsele, Vinderhoute, Waarschoot, and Zomergem).


During two weeks filled with music, poetry, exhibitions, routes, and encounters, we will match art and places—literally and figuratively. We are looking for visual artists, poets, performers, and musicians who want to display their work in an unexpected place: a window, shop window, garden, café, school, or village square.


So no traditional exhibitions, but a loving cross-pollination between art, people, and their living environment.

 

Who?

• Visual artists, poets, musicians, and performers of all levels

• With a connection to Lievegem or the Meetjesland region (living, working, born, active, etc.)

• Who are open to collaboration, experimentation, or meeting new people

• And who want to temporarily display or perform their work at a local venue

How?

Via the matchmaking platform www.liefdegem.be, you can:

• Present your artwork, project, or performance

• Or respond to a location that is available (shop window, window, garden, hall, café...)

This is how we bring artists and locations together — one match at a time.
From a painting in a shop window to a performance in a village hall: anything is possible, as long as it brings a smile or a sense of wonder.

Practical information

• Location: spread across the six boroughs of Lievegem

• Artists are responsible for transporting and installing their work (in consultation with the host location)
