Since 1989, the Prix de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée has been organised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation - Visual Arts Division. It encourages the practice of printmaking in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and gives real visibility to the artists practising this discipline. 

Each year, a jury preselects the works to be presented in the exhibition. Then, a mainly external jury, composed of renowned people from the sector, meets to award the prize of €2.500. In exceptional cases, honorary mentions may also be awarded.
All traditional printing techniques and those involving new technologies are accepted.
