Artist

Marthe Huyse is a Ghent-based designer, editor, and artist whose practice explores the intersection of books, bodies, and identity. With a focus on feminist and queer perspectives, Huyse’s work redefines authorship as a collaborative act that weaves together memory, narrative, and touch. Their projects examine how individual and collective identities are performed and continuously reshaped, whether through print, wearable art, or community gatherings. By designing “carriers”—objects that are vessels of re-imagined histories and emotions—she encourages participants to interact, questioning traditional boundaries of print and the body as mediums.

Huyse holds a master in visual arts (graphic design) from KASK & Conservatorium Ghent and has presented their work at Beursschouwburg (Brussels), Onomatopee (Eindhoven), and De Verffabriek (Ghent). Currently, they are engaged in multiple research projects exploring body extensions and collaboration, and remain open to diverse assignments and partnerships. Their work invites viewers to question traditional boundaries of print and the body as mediums, turning forgotten histories into shared, tactile experiences.
