Trui Van Landuyt
Trui Van Landuyt is a visual artist. She recently obtained her bachelor's degree in drawing at KASK in Ghent and is currently working on her master's project in fine arts.
Drawing is central to Trui’s artistic practice. Within this practice, various printmaking techniques are also integrated. She made a 'construction kit,' out of 2dimensional bodydepartments of herself, which creates a framework that allows for endless drawing.". Characters and structures arise, constantly referring to the idea of theatre. A recurring element is the vast landscape, where the horizon line—or the absence of it—plays a key role. The concept of the expansive landscape contrasts with that of the theatre, which is a closed entity.
In addition to her drawings, costumes also form a significant part of her artistic practice. These costumes can be seen as drawings or installations. They can be draped in space, creating the suggestion of a body without one actually being present.
Her artistic practice could be seen as a preparation for a theater piece that will never actually take place
