Jacques Vledder was born in Lemmer in Friesland, The Netherlands, in 1970, where he lived until 1994. He then studied fine arts at the Academy of Art and Design ArtEZ in Arnheim from 1994-1998, experimenting with a wide range of techniques including intaglio, painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art. He now focuses on photography and digital art.

Vledder’s work often explores themes of the environment, nature, architecture, people, and society, sometimes as a protest, but also as an investigation. The images are sometimes geometrically represented but can also be a mix of multiple styles. The experimental process is also an important element towards the realization and finishing of the artworks.
