Acrylic gouache, aquarel, ink, oil pastel, colored pencil on recycled paper

I have a deep fascination with Mary the mother of Jesus, but also all iterations of women as deity or archetypal power holders. 

I started this with nothing in mind, and in the end I played with the idea of an all seeing googley eye iteration of Mary, surrounded by the energy and vitality of Spring. Is she a source or a supplicant of it? After finishing this piece I realized I had a lack of color and joy in my life as winter was ending and I was still in the early stages of grief.
