La mano que te da de comer
La mano que te da de comer
I am fascinated by the figure of death, especially death's smile, which mocks us because it knows we can never escape it.
For this sculpture, I took a jawbone as my reference and mixed the shapes of human and cat jaws with a more modern design, based on the curved shapes of retrofuturism, to create a contemporary piece. This piece is interactive, allowing its teeth to be used to mark the body, so that the body becomes part of it, and its mark remains on us even when it disappears, just like the inevitability of death.
