Costume piece for Singaporean singer-songwriter Benjamin Kheng, for his music video “SPINE”

This wearable spine was 3D printed with SLS and FDM technologies and finished with hand painting. To digitally create its skeletal form, the artist first prepared a 3D ‘growth bounding volume’ for branching structures to develop in the digital realm. These branches were subsequently grown using custom algorithms, and given volume using voxelising functions.
