Until There is Nothing Left but Promises
Until There is Nothing Left but Promises
The installation reveals how love and friendshiplike connection are both romanticized and commodified, exposing the tension between the longing for stability and the superficiality that often accompanies the concept of love.
At the heart of the work is a teddy bear holding a “LOVE” pillow, wrapped in plastic and tagged with a €40 price, symbolizing the commercialization of intimacy. Nearby, snow globes containing fragments of text evoke unreachable ideals and countless desires placed on relationships. The shop-like arrangement emphasizes the overwhelming demands of love, revealing how these promises become interchangeable and empty.
On the screens, shifting text fragments quietly dismantle the illusion of permanence, offering a glimpse of the reality beneath. The work invites reflection on the fragility of promises and the delicate space between idealized love and the world that consumes it.
