The Antonivskyi Bridge was a 1.2km long bridge that crossed the Dnipro River in Kherson in southern Ukraine. It acted as the main route connecting Kyiv to the Crimean peninsula where I come from. It was the bridge I crossed to get to Europe. In November 2022 it was blown up by the Russians as the region was recaptured by Ukrainian forces.

This piece was created out of the only remaining video of the bridge that I took while crossing it on my way to Kyiv. Only 16 seconds long, I dissected the video to create a panorama of the bridge from all 421 frames of the video.

The moving image installation reconstructs the bridge to the sound of the never falling missile. The stills from the video are transformed back into video, forming the backbone of the bridge and showing the Ukrainian landscape as seen from the bridge.
