for the antwerp queer arts festival residency i worked on an installation translating the fermentational process of kombucha into a sound and light installation. resulting in a space for care and rest.

This installation is a living composition, created together with fermenting cultures.

Glass vessels hold active kombucha, each rising bubble captured by a camera and transformed into sound in real time.

You are invited to sit, lie, or simply pause within this darkened space, where microbial rhythms shape an environment of rest and attention.

To nurture yourself is also to care for others. In listening closely to these microbial voices, the installation becomes a shared ecology of care, a place where slowing down is not withdrawal, but solidarity.
