3 layer monotype on paper

This piece was inspired by a view during my run at the end of summer from a few years ago. I could feel the sun was warm but there was a sense of autumn lingering in the air. I have a habit of capturing views from my runs and walks and later recreating them in different techniques like drawing, painting and printmaking. Being born in Finland spending time in the nature is a very important way for me to connect with myself and I enjoy reliving these moments through creating art.

This particular view I have drawn already multiple times and for some reason I keep getting back to it. This particular piece is a monotype where a plate is inked completely black and the image is created by wiping off the ink thus revealing an image. As the name suggests, you can only print one print with a monotype as the ink is transferred onto the paper your plate is left empty.
