Elmer, Portrait.

Elmer sits upon a window frame. A window between humanity and animality. Upon this frame Elmer mirrors my emotions. Happiness, commitment, intelligence. Elmer deeply supports my grief, my sadness. The window reveals the natural world. In nature Elmer is enraptured, ardent, loving, inquisitive. This window makes me wonder, makes me realise. I am a human within the animal world. I take care of Elmer. But Elmer actually takes care of me.
