This painting reflects on the Sanda Dia case in two ways: intentionally abusing (multiple people) and killing Sanda should not end with a 'but they were young and stupid (and white and rich)' so they have to pay some money and do some work. Secondly, 'life sentence', isn't just about going to prison or paying a higher price, it's also about how they should have been punished in a way that won't allow them to ever forget what they did.
