Mijn antwoord op de vraag Over je Project (Ik kan het niet uploaden bij STAP 4) 

Samen met Breedbeeld Traject 5, ben ik in het proces van mijn eerste eigen fotoboek uit te geven. Breedbeeld zorgt voor maandelijkse creatieve sessies onder begeleiding van Jan Rosseel. Ze bieden ondersteuning over de inhoud van het boek en connecties binnen de (fotografische) kunstwereld.  
Het boek Sharks Come Closer At Night is een voortzetting van het werk Trying To Be Turtles, een fotografische film waarin Lauranne de banden verkent die ze vormt met de vrienden die ze maakt tijdens haar eerste ervaring ver van huis. In het boek creëert Lauranne een symbolische, bijna heilige ruimte die de sfeer van hun avondwandelingen oproept. Hier vinden zij en haar vrienden een veilige plek om hun worstelingen met de uitdagingen van jongvolwassenheid en de complexiteit van vrouwelijkheid te delen. Lauranne vertraagt de tijd in deze momenten van kwetsbaarheid en intimiteit, maar te midden van de stilte blijft het geluid van de beukende golven en het spattende water altijd op de achtergrond aanwezig.

Together with Breedbeeld Traject 5, I am in the process of publishing my first photography book. Breedbeeld provides monthly creative sessions led by Jan Rosseel, offering support on the content of the book as well as connections within the (photographic) art world.

The book, Sharks Come Closer At Night, is a continuation of Lauranne's earlier work Trying To Be Turtles, a photographic film in which she explores the bonds she forms with friends during her first experience of living far from home. In this book, Lauranne creates a symbolic, almost sacred space that captures the atmosphere of their evening walks. In these moments, she and her friends find a safe haven where they can share their struggles with the challenges of young adulthood and the complexities of femininity. Lauranne slows down time in these moments of vulnerability and intimacy, yet even in the stillness, the sound of crashing waves and splashing water is a constant presence in the background.
