The Flesh Rose
The Flesh Rose
Work created for Boris Van den Eynden together with Pola Krezlewicz and Julia Pawlak.
The “Flesh Rose” is a metaphor that visually represents anal prolapse, in this specific case as a result of the 10 anal inspections received by the protagonist of the painting.
The painting openly draws on Rembrandt's classic painting “The Blinding of Samson” but revisited in a satirical key as a response to the work of Evelin Brosi & Elvis Bonier

The explanatory booklet accompanying the work contains 10 different explanations in 10 different languages, using only the 10 letters that make up the words “anal inspection” in a deliberately bureaucratic form that recalls the dichotomous nature of institutions that attempt to clarify and make information accessible, but which misunderstand intentions and make the content cumbersome to access.
