Mothers of justice!
Parents holding images of their children and loved ones while seeking justice has become a regular sight in Iran over the past 44 years.
This painting is dedicated to all the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers battling for justice:
And to all the girls and boys who got blinded while protesting in the streets.
*The rainbow color stands for the words of our beloved “Kian Pirfalak”, the 9-year-old boy who was killed in the street of Izeh.
In a video that was released shortly after his death, Kian began his explanation of his invention with the words “In the name of the God of the Rainbow”.
*The texture of bodies refers to every veins and arteries in the body which have become roots in the pursuit for justice and propagated in the next generations. The roots originating from the homeland ‘Iran’ that is suffering.
*The mirrors refer to the words of Mother of Siavash, Lyla Mahdavi, who warned onlookers in the streets: ‘Your Child Can Be Next’
