Following on from his reflections on the relationship between time and space, Hofmann regularly undertakes to walk to the opening of his exhibitions. This choice naturally implies a completely different organisation. 

When, from Brussels, he set off for Nancy (12 days) or Veurne (7 days), he had to find hosts who would welcome him along the way, without causing too many detours. These daily encounters and the elasticity of the route are an integral part of his approach. For the artist, it's a question of giving a coherent meaning to the choices that mark out his artistic practice.
