Your Movement

Your Movement

A film for Grace Schwindt, a German artist living in London who works with performance, film, music, and sculpture.
"Your Movement" is the title of the project.

For this film I was inspired by the artist’s idea of challenging the notion of “tolerance”, where some see themselves as the ones who tolerate others from a distance. Instead, she proposes a more equal kind of closeness: a direct connection between people, where we can meet, touch, and affect each other without needing to justify who we are.

Translating this concept into visuals, I chose light as the main element to express the shared experiences between the participants. We avoided any artificial lighting and filmed entirely on location, using only natural light. I believed this approach would allow the work to remain honest, raw, and true to the idea of genuine connection.

For the sound, I experimented with many effects and ambiences, but the industrial soundscape proved most powerful. The contrast between the harsh, mechanical sounds and the soft, intimate imagery created a deliberate paradox, reflecting the tension between closeness and distance, softness and rigidity, that lies at the heart of the project.
