The Post-2019 Era of Hong Kong
Law's creations stem from the act of making, remaking, and reflecting on failure or error. She views printmaking as a tool for conveying messages, allowing her to respond to and document the increasingly chaotic state of the world. Through printmaking, she has created various prints, including paper toys and books, to tell different stories. These stories often have a dark backdrop, occasionally infused with black humor, reflecting her concerns about war and human rights issues.
OOO is my imaginary toy shop, it aims to tell stories of different parallels world.
This publication serves as a historical record of the political and social events of post-2019 of Hong Kong, intertwining my personal diary with the city’s evolving narrative.
As we reflect on the increasingly chaotic state of our world, printmaking emerges as a powerful tool for conveying messages. It allows me to document my responses to this broken reality. I aim to tell stories that resonate with the complexities of our current times.
My reflections challenge the conventional narratives we've been taught about history. While the book is based on true events, it acknowledges that the information within is not 100% accurate. This duality invites readers to question what they accept as truth and encourages a deeper exploration of the past.
Through this publication, I hope to foster a dialogue about our shared experiences and the narratives that shape us, creating a space for imagination and reflection in a world that often feels fragmented.
