In 2021, I had Covid for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic and lost the senses.
With this canvas I wanted to capture the period of illness and to convey the transition from absence to partial, and then complete, recovery of the sensations.
I recorded how much moral and emotional states depend on the perception of smell and taste in selected colors, gradient pattern and static composition.
Light beige is a humble acceptance of the new normal.
Saturated beige is an attempt to capture at least some notes of smell and taste.
Bright yellow-green is the joy of surprise, the memory of being a child and feeling something for the first time.
Acid green is the moment of realization that the senses are coming back at their full potential.
