A sketch of Irritation
A sketch of Irritation
Ink, Aquarel, Acrylic Gouache, Oil Pastel, on folded paper
This began as a test paper, I had previously folded it, and cut into it. Then decided that I wanted to paint something related to anger and frustration. Feelings which are simultaneously perceived as feminine and incredibly unfeminine. As a woman, a mother, just a human being, I experience anger, but rarely feel that I have helpful outlets into which I can channel my frustrations toward systems of oppression and the trials of life. In painting I feel that I have found the outlet but am still working out the kinks of my method. Though in the end I feel that I captured the feeling of irritation rather than anger...
I used rubber snakes dipped in ink and pressed onto paper to try and play with the story of original sin.
