This work was part of my master project “Paincoats & Mantelzorgers”.

“Paincoats & Mantelzorgers” presents an ensemble of textile works, drawings and a video, that grew together organically and symbiotically. With the title, I want to reflect on vulnerability (of humans, other species, the earth) and emphasize the importance of care. This urge comes from the experience of inhabiting a body that is simultaneously caring and vulnerable. Questions can be raised about the embodied experience of pain or discomfort – what is often (expected to be) kept hidden? – and about the act of caring – who takes care of whom in the system we live in?
