Amulet of Hope
Amulet of Hope
A city once full of life now lies in ruins, frozen in a silent scream. Stones scorched by fire and time hold echoes of the past. Amidst all this devastation sits a lonely figure. The man leans on his backpack, the only thing left of his former world. But this backpack is more than just an object; it is a symbol of the journey, a testament to resilience, proof that even in the ashes you can find the seeds of a new beginning.
He holds a dog in his arms. A small, trembling creature, but a whole universe in itself. Its warm fur is the last reminder of home, its eyes reflect a love that is stronger than destruction. They embrace not only with their hands, but also with their souls, for in this moment, in this gesture is contained everything that still matters.
An invisible shield descends over them. Ukrainian protective symbols, embroidered with threads on paper, are woven into a celestial dome, as if the stars themselves had bent down to shelter these two from the cold embrace of war. These are more than signs, they are talismans, indestructible armor woven from memory, devotion and the indomitable human spirit.
This work is made in the linocut technique, size A2. Clear, bold lines convey the drama of a destroyed world, and delicate embroidered threads symbolize the unbreakable bond of traditions, the warmth of hands that sew protection for their loved ones.
This picture speaks not of loss, but of fortitude. That hope is not a fragile flame, but a fire that cannot be blown out. And even if there is darkness around, a person will still find the strength to move on. Because as long as there is at least one warm palm, as long as there is one creature that looks at you with trust, the world can still be reassembled.
