This piece was created using the Revival Collection by @winsorandnewton Winsor & Newton, Edition 2025 #WNEdition2025 (for #contestfrance2025 , #windsorandnewton #contestnetherlands2025 ) and emerged from my memories of Poland in the late 1970s. I deliberately chose only three shades from the new palette: Fields Orange(418), Revival Yellow(Aureoline hue 417) and especially my favorite Ostwald Grey(428) —the dominant grey that lends a melancholic atmosphere to a late summer evening.

Grey (428) takes center stage in this work. It envelops the landscape in silence, a soft veil of emotion and introspection. While Fields Orange and Revival Yellow suggest warmth and vitality, Ostwald Grey deepens the sadness of the woman at the heart of the composition. She walks through the wheat fields, embracing their beauty, yet her presence carries the weight of loss—a moment suspended between shadow and sunlight.

The artwork was painted on handmade watercolor paper by Indigo Artway, using brushes by Isabey.
