Glacier I
Glacier I
This painting is a piece of the Engabreen glacier (Svartissen) - Norway.
Svartisen (black ice) is the name for two glaciers near Meløy in the Nordland county of northern Norway.
The glacier is located in the Saltfjellet-Svartisen national park northwest of Mo i Rana. The Engabreen is a side arm of the glacier.
Together this whole area covers 369 km². The two largest glaciers are:
- Vestre Svartisen (221 km²), which is the second largest glacier on the Norwegian mainland (after Jostedalsbreen).
- Østre Svartisen (148 km²), which is the fourth largest glacier.
