TENNIS DATE

TENNIS DATE

In this installation, I invite a first date to the anti-squat building where I live. Together, we play an improvised tennis match using a ball soaked in paint. As we hit the ball back and forth, the paint splatters onto large sheets of paper covering the walls, recording every touch and collision. The paint captures the intangible tension between us: every unexpected move, every moment of hesitation, every charged glance is translated through the ball into traces on paper. The fragile tension, the distance, and the approach of a first encounter become physically visible and tangible. The action is filmed and presented on two screens facing each other. Each screen shows the perspective of one of us just the moment before we begin to play watching each other. The viewer becomes immersed in the dynamic between us. Behind the screens, the paper marked during the match hangs as a backdrop, allowing the viewer to imagine what unfolded between the two perspectives.
