‘HAPPY SINGLE’ 1925-ish ‘Briggston’ 350cc single cylinder Brooklands racer
Engine: Stretched Briggs&Stratton lawnmower
Cylinder head: Alu. B&S (holes are drilled to fit oversized bolts)
Cylinder: Plywood and a can of beans
Bottom end: B&S, turned (completely) upside down
Crankshaft: Standard B&S
Valvetrain: Homemade (weldingrods and nuts/bolts from the spares jar)
Gearbox: Refurbished 50cc JLO engine with very rusted internals
Frame: 1920’s looking rigid single downtube. Bronze welded from old bicycle steel
Front forks: ‘Girder’ (origine unknown)
Front wheel: Dutch moped (1960’s)
Fenders: Batavus, cut down to size
Rear wheel: Batavus transport moped (1960’s)
Brakes: Yes
Electronics: High Voltage
Oil supply: Homemade oiltank from Batavette. Dry sump with extra powerlube system
Exhaust: homemade downtube and vacuumclaener silencer. Not very quiet!
Saddle: Plywood, papier-maché, old bycicle saddle springs
Fueltank: Plywood.
Nothing about this vintage racer is real!
Although it represents Brittish motorcycles of that era (1920’s-‘30’s). Everything is handmade from scrap and leftovers and assembled with the greatest precision and care.
