Laura Eva Meuris - String-telling conversation piece / participatory performance

‘Corresponding with people and with things as we used to in letter writing—opens paths for life to carry on, each in its own way but nevertheless with regards to others.’ —Tim Ingold.

In String-telling conversation piece Laura Eva encourages participants to tell their stories through words and strings in a specially-designed nomadic architecture.

She wanted to create a delimitated framework and a meaningful object that mediates dialogue in a heart to heart way in a confidential setting. The act of telling through strings reproduces the many links constantly emerging between us and the rest of nature and entices the participants into recounting themselves.
